Learn C with the help of this DOS C/C++ development system from Borland, together with the C tutorial in this issue of PC Plus. This software allows you to create and run programs within the development environment. It does not include graphics functions.
Please read LICENSE.TXT which will be installed with the software - note that you are free to distribute source code, but programs compiled with this compiler are for your own personal use only and may not be distributed.
Look out for a special offer to upgrade to Turbo C++ 3.0 for DOS or Borland C++ 4.0 for Windows, Windows NT and DOS. Details are included in UPGRADE.TXT and there is an order form in this issue of PC Plus.
INSTALLATION
To install Borland Turbo C++ Lite (Primer Edition), press [Continue] below, then choose a destination. The default is C:\TCLITE, but you can choose another drive and directory if desired.
USING THE SOFTWARE
Once the software is installed the executable compiler, TC.EXE, will be found in the \BIN subdirectory (if you accepted the default installation, it will be in C:\TCLITE\BIN). You should include this sub-directory on your PATH statement in AUTOEXEC.BAT, for example:
SET PATH=C:\DOS;C:\TCLITE\BIN
Then turn to our C tutorial starting in this issue of PC Plus!
